We believe that everything is fixable! Especially historic windows that were made to be repaired. No matter the damage, our team of craftspeople is committed to achieving the best outcome possible, whether that means a new coat of paint or a full rebuild.

We rehabilitate historic doors and windows by restoring the functionality and beauty of these pieces. Our typical process for windows includes old paint and glaze removal, wood repairs, glazing with new putty, refinishing, and cleaning glass. We offer flexible restoration options to fit the needs of your budget and your windows. For doors, we strip all old finishes down to bare wood and refinish to client requests. In this process we also remove and restore the hardware on your historic pieces.

It is difficult to give an exact price range; because historic pieces have a wide range of needs, we tailor our approach based on several factors. However, for typical restoration work on a single one over one lite window, our quotes typically start at $2,000. For storm windows, depending on size and quantity, you can expect to pay on average $850-$1,200 per opening. Our prices for single front door exterior work often sits around $2,500 - $4,000.

While we have the means and experience to eliminate light mold, we recommend contacting a more specialized company for full remediation. We also do not have the resources to exterminate any kind of pest. We are happy to fix any damage after these problems are resolved!

We offer both stained and painted finishes. For stained finishes we prefer to use tung oil products in conjunction with Old Masters stains. We also use both linseed oil and modern latex paint. We prefer to source our linseed oil paints from Brouns & Co and our modern paints from Benjamin Moore. With so many colors and manufacturers, we are always open to ordering custom mixed modern paint colors or using your preferred paint brand.

All materials naturally degrade over time. Depending on the finish you choose, we recommend routine maintenance yearly to every few years. Our tung oil projects need a recoat every year and our latex paint products have a life of easily 5-8 years. Linseed oil paint also needs a fresh coat of oil typically after 3-10+ years. Maintenance does not mean full restoration though! We charge an hourly rate for recoats, which typically only take a few hours.
